Dutch Detective returns to ITV

Classic drama Van Der Valk has been re-made for the modern generation, with the new run of episodes starting on ITV this week.

The original series, set in the 1970s and 90s was loosely based on the novels by Nicolas Freeling and provided British audiences with their first truly international detective – a complex, thoughtful and ‘real’ sleuth who tackled tough crimes against a picturesque Dutch backdrop. The new series re-imagines Van Der Valk (Marc Warren) in the contemporary world of Amsterdam and follows the street-smart detective as he leads his dynamic team in solving a raft of mysterious crimes.

The original series featured Jack Trombey's Eye Level as its theme tune, with Simon Park's arrangment going on to top the UK charts in 1973.

We are thrilled to continure our association with Van Der Valk by publishing the theme tune for this new adaptation. Check it out on ITV, Sunday 28th April.
